RADA and Juilliard jazz join up to entertain Cunard

Special performances by members of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) and jazz sessions featuring students and faculty members of The Juilliard School in New York will bring an extra dimension to the Entertainment line-up aboard Queen Mary 2 this Summer and  Autumn.

The events will take place aboard the Cunard flagship’s Transatlantic Crossings between Southampton and New York.  These additions to Cunard’s entertainment and award-winning enrichment programme further enhance the 10th anniversary celebration for Queen Mary 2 in 2014.

The graduate company from RADA, one of the most famous acting schools in the world, will present specially edited and adapted versions of plays and great literary works.  Each show lasts no more than an hour and includes classics such as Hamlet, Arabian Nights and Pride and Prejudice.  In addition, interactive workshops will invite passengers to explore how the gift of storytelling can fit into their daily lives.

The Juilliard School Jazz Series will treat passengers to the best in contemporary and classic jazz, performed by students and faculty members of the prestigious New York institution.  This exclusive partnership will introduce passengers to emerging world-class musical talent.

RADA performances are scheduled during the seven-night  August 20 crossing and the eight- night October 8 voyage, both sailing from Southampton to New York.  Fares start at £999pp for inside accommodation, including the flight home from New York.

The Juilliard School members will perform during the eight-night July 28 and August 27 crossings, and the seven-night September 27, October 28 and November 19 eastbound voyages from New York to Southampton.  Fares start at £899pp  for inside accommodation, including the outward flight to New York.
