Celebrate Christmas on Europe’s rivers with AmaWaterways

During the festive season, AmaWaterways’ luxury river cruise ships are lavishly decorated with swags, tinsel, huge Christmas trees and festive lights. Crew members join in carol singing, there is festive entertainment and games, fine dining and gala dinners. Gifts and treats are left in the cabins and, in true European tradition, to fill guests’ shoes left outside their cabin doors on Christmas Eve.

Christmas on the Danube
Sail from Budapest to Vilshofen via Bratislava, Vienna (especially beautiful at Christmas time), Melk and Krems, and the city of Linz, spending long enough in each destination to take in the festive atmosphere and shop for Christmas decorations, gifts and festive fare. Vienna alone has around twenty different Christmas markets, including the famous market in front of the Rathaus (town hall), while the other towns and cities en-route all have their own markets, nativity scenes and festive events.
