Wine Spectator
honours premium cruise line with 10 awards for the second year
running
Celebrity Cruises’ wine programme has been recognised in the Wine Spectator
2014 Restaurant Wine List Awards. Ten of 12 honours in the cruise
category were awarded to Celebrity Cruises for its wine lists that
are featured on board each of its 11 ships.
The publication’s “Award of
Excellence,” is given for wine lists that offer a well-chosen selection of
quality producers, along with a thematic match to the menu in both price and
style. This is the second year that cruise lines have been included in the
awards, which have honoured the world's best wine lists since
1981.
Designed to please the wide range of
Celebrity guests, from the novice wine drinker to the most ardent
enthusiast, the wine lists are presented with the wines grouped by flavour
profiles. In building the list, each wine was carefully reviewed by the cruise
line’s team of wine professionals and rated based on its characteristics.
On average, Celebrity Cruises’ main restaurants each have more than 400 wines available, featuring an extensive global collection of fine wines carefully selected to match both the blend of classic and contemporary cuisine available onboard and the diverse destinations visited across the world. Each of Celebrity Cruises’ onboard speciality restaurants also have their own unique wine lists, created with the style of the dining menu in mind.
