Rocky Mountaineer's New Coastal Passage

The internationally-acclaimed Rocky Mountaineer train service has just launched its brand new Coastal Passage route, allowing cross-border travel to the USA for the first time in its history.

With this unique route, the Rocky Mountaineer - which links with many cruise lines out of Vancouver - will travel along the glistening Pacific Northwest shoreline, seamlessly connecting Seattle to the majestic Canadian Rockies via the Canadian city of Vancouver.

Guests onboard the train, departing from and arriving into Seattle, will enjoy a balance of city visits and breathtaking landscapes as they journey along the spectacular shorelines, from Washington State into British Columbia, before reaching the breathtaking Canadian Rockies.

From the comfort of the Mountaineer’s award-winning GoldLeaf Service, guests will enjoy luxurious surroundings in a bi-level custom-designed dome coach with panoramic views, gourmet cuisine in a private dining room and personalised service.

The new route launched with four departures in August and has 24 departures scheduled for the 2014 season. More than 40 per cent of all Rocky Mountaineer guests book a rail journey in conjunction with an Alaskan Cruise. And, with flexible cruise dates out of the Port of Seattle, guests now have the opportunity to see the best of both worlds through rail and cruise holiday packages.

Norwegian Sets Sails With Rocky Mountaineer

The internationally recognised Rocky Mountaineer train has announced a major new global partnership with Norwegian Cruise Line, which will offer even more Rail and Cruise holiday options in 2014.

Connecting with Rocky Mountaineer’s new Coastal Passage rail route out of Seattle, as well as train departures from Vancouver, guests are invited to experience a stunning rail journey through the Pacific Northwest and the Canadian Rockies before or after their Norwegian cruise to Alaska.

There are five different Rail & Cruise holiday packages available through Rocky Mountaineer for travel in 2014. Each itinerary offers a unique opportunity for travellers to make the most of their visit to Western Canada and Alaska by linking the Rocky Mountaineer with cruises on three of Norwegian’s ships: Norwegian Jewel, Norwegian Pearl and Norwegian Sun.

One of the most popular packages to add a Norwegian Alaskan Cruise to is the Canadian Rockies Highlights & Coastal Passage. Including the cruise, this holiday ranges from 13-14 days in length depending on the direction selected. Guests can enjoy a seven-night round-trip cruise from Seattle on Norwegian Jewel or Pearl plus a Rocky Mountaineer rail journey in either GoldLeaf or SilverLeaf Service.

Whether departing from or arriving into Seattle, guests on board the train are seamlessly connected to the Canadian Rockies with stays in such renowned destinations as Vancouver, Banff and Lake Louise. An unforgettable helicopter flight over the towering Canadian Rockies tops off this genuinely amazing holiday experience.
