P&O's Britannia - Behind The Design

In a bid to build up more excitement about their forthcoming new ship Britannia - the largest ship ever built for the UK market and due to make its debut in spring 2015 - P&O Cruises has made a short video showcasing ‘behind the design’ of the vessel.

Athough it is only a teaser clip of the full video coming later this month, it provides a sneak preview of the making of the new 141,000-ton ship in the Monfalcone yard of Italian shipbuilders Fincantieri, with Britannia due to make her maiden voyage in mid-March of 2015.

Focusing on the overall design, the new video includes never-seen-before footage and exclusive interviews with P&O marketing director Christopher Edgington, head of new build David Pickett and key senior staff and designers from Richmond International, who are charged with the entire design of the ship.

Richmond is working with P&O to create "a modern classic and a ship with timeless elegance." The London-based company has worked with some of the country’s finest hotels and is designing Britannia throughout from start to finish.

The video is hosted on the P&O Cruises YouTube channel and can also be seen direct on this link (if the above doesn't work):
