Exploring the Black Sea on Saga Pearl II

East meets West on Saga Pearl II’s 33-night exploration of the Black Sea, visiting some of the most important trading ports in history as well as stunning seaside resorts, including Sochi, home of the Winter Olympics 2014.

Sochi is one of the Black Sea’s most popular beach resorts with mineral springs and parks that stretch along the Caucasian coastline. Its subtropical climate allows citrus fruit, tea and tobacco to flourish and with the Caucasus Mountains as a backdrop, this is a ‘super-stop’ for cruise passengers.

Saga Pearl II will also call at three Turkish ports including the dynamic city of Istanbul, characterised by ancient mosques alongside contemporary art galleries. Turkey’s largest metropolis is a melting pot of cultures and the only city in the world to straddle two continents – Europe and Asia.

A day will be spent cruising the Dardanelles, a narrow strait connecting the Aegean Sea to the Sea of Marmara. The Adriatic shore was the focus of the Trojan War. In 1915,  the peninsula was the location of the World War One Battle of Gallipoli.

33 nights from £3,799 departing Dover on September 27, 2014.
Price includes UK mainland travel service to and from departure point, all meals onboard, all-inclusive drinks*, 24-hour room service, gratuities,  welcome cocktail party, entertainment and activities, porterage and travel insurance.
