There's no Time Spent At Sea blog today - just a wide-ranging and sincere festive greeting to cruise-goers the world over for a peaceful and enjoyable holiday period.

Our man Steve Newman is taking a well-deserved break today and we would like to thank him, especially, for all the work he puts in to our daily cruise blog. He's a great asset to us here at World of Cruising, and is a 'verra canny lad' as they might say up in his part of the country.

When Bloggers Meet!!

It was a surprise for two of our regular bloggers when our arch-contributor Steve Newman met guest blogger Danielle Fear, aka Cruise Miss, for lunch on Cruise and Maritime Voyages' MV Discovery yesterday when the ship was berthed at Newcastle-upon-Tyne prior to leaving on her latest cruise to Norway and the North Cape.

That's the joy of cruising - you never know who you're going to meet and where. Steve and Danielle seem to be gripping on the stairway, even though the ship is docked. Only Lisa Donohoe from the  Port of Tyne Cruise Terminal seems to have her sea legs!

Another fabulous day in the Cape Verde Islands! Here we are at Tarrafal on the north of the main island.  

It has been a day of mountains, beaches and incredible Jacaranda trees with their vivid blue. 

Tomorrow, we start island-hopping. Can't wait!

Hello everyone and just a few lines to thank you for all your support during the year. Steve has to go in to “Dry dock for refurbishment” over the holiday period and will be back in service on January 2nd.
