Ponant Set Sail For Arctic

Compagnie du Ponant, the luxury French yacht cruise operator and specialist in soft expeditions and great journeys around the world, has run Antarctic cruises for years and is currently developing a new Arctic itinerary cruising through the North-West Passage for its brand new ship Le Sol√©al, which launches in July 2013.

The newcomer will feature Iceland, Greenland and Arctic Canada in its first season, before going on to a series of unique voyages in the Russian Far East and Japan via the famous North-West passage in September and October.

Le Soleal will be a sister ship to Ponant's two ground-breaking super-yachts Le Boreal and L'Austral (above), which made their debuts in 2010 and 2011 respectively, taking 260 passengers in deluxe style.

With many themed-cruises, from music, golf, and gourmet cruises taking place throughout the year, the luxury cruise line also offers guests a unique product with world-famous French savoir-faire.
