The island’s flag is similar to that of Norway but with a yellow edge
to the cross rather than a white one. The local authorities have put on free
shuttle buses from the port to the town for us to explore.
Others have been to Scara Brae
and the prehistoric village with its Neolithic stone circles whilst some have been
to the whisky distillery! Kirkwall is a lovely little town with a fascinating
cathedral and old buildings. The pubs are very good too and it was a delight to
be back in once again.
Tomorrow we will be back home in Liverpool, so I hope you’ve enjoyed these posts 'live' from the voyage - and you can also read the full story in the autumn edition of World of Cruising magazine.
